Question 2000 Grand Am GT

I have a 2000 Grand Am GT and I have already replaced the lower intake manifold gasket a little while ago (less than 1 yr.) and I just noticed today that I have another coolant leak on my garage floor.

Anyone have any ideas and if you do do you also have estimates for cost?

Thanks,

Randy

Re: 2000 Grand Am GT

It is coming from the passanger side. I checked all the hoses for pressure and they are fine. A buddy of mine said it might be the water pump. It looks like the radiator is being splashed on from the belt. If it is the water pump, what does something like that run? What is the cost of the part, not retail. I have a buddy who can get me parts at cost.
How hard of a job is it? How many hours?
Thanks.

Check the coolant bottle in the engine. It may be cracked. I had the same problem and finally one day I saw the leak fresh on my driveway and opened the hood to see that it was leaking from the damn bottle. It seems to be a common thing as the mechanic that ordered it for me said that GM has sold 150 of them this month.
