Can the Auto Light function be 'detuned'?

Hi to all,

I have a 2000 GV with the DRL's and the Auto light function. I don't mind the DRL's, in fact I like them. I also like the auto lights, but mine are far too sensitive. If I drive through a tree shadow, the dang things turn on. ON OFF...ON.....OFF..ONOFF... You get the idea. Is there some way to turn down the sensitivity or some sort of a tunable delay?

Re: Can the Auto Light function be 'detuned'?

I was hoping for a more permanent solution (and safer I think). It's not that I want to disable the auto light function, I want to make it less sensitive. If I wanted to disable it I'd just disconnect the sensor....

you can completely eliminate the on/off function of the auto lights by disconnecting the sensor located on the dash on the passenger side. I had the same issues with the lights going on and off constantly and it was frustrating!
