Spoon drain plugs

Is this worth buying for a daily driver? I mean isn't it already a bad thing if you have metallic debris floating around in your oil?

Re: Spoon drain plugs

I'd probably buy them if I did a turbo or use it for the first oil change after doing motor work; then replace it with an OE one after that.

Re: Spoon drain plugs

$48 is way too expensive for one. Researched a bit and they sell magnets for the oil filter for $10 at any autozone or whatever.

Re: Spoon drain plugs

believe it or not, it is a good idea to have the magnet, it keeps metal (from what i dont know) from chewing up bearings and all, but i just cant justify 50 bucks for the spoon name.

Yeah but if you have metal shavings floating around doesn't that mean your engine's already fucked?

Re: Spoon drain plugs

i know for a fact when a motor is broken in for the first time it puts out a crazy amount of shavings from the rings seating into the cylinder walls, other than that im not very sure. however there are a lot of times very small amounts of metal floating around, think about it, if the motor didnt shave any metal off at all, what would make them wear out?

I Highly recommend getting better than magnetic plug plus you can use it in combination with plug.
