Depends on the length of the race I think. Stop light to stop light, I think the GST is going to come out on top. After that, I just don't know.

Re: stock 91 sl vs. stock 97 gst
could be close i think, the gsx is about a 15.0 car, and im not sure about the 91 sl but other sl's run 14.9 -15.0 so in my opinion its a drivers race. but again that is with my limited knowledge about the gst

so as long as he's running stock boost and you can drive, i'd say that you can beat him, he'll probably beat you off the line sense he's auto, turbo automatics can be pretty mean off the line. You will for sure walk him after 100

Just saying turbo lag is pretty ambiguous. All turbos have lag, its just a question of how much. A lot as in ten seconds? Two? Three tenths?

Re: stock 91 sl vs. stock 97 gst
its about 1 sec before turbo kicks in. ours kick in so fast it seems as if we have no turbo lag.

Re: stock 91 sl vs. stock 97 gst
to my opinion, you could take him, the gst is fast, but not that fast on stock.. and there's a good difference between the gst and the gsx, as long as it's not a gsx then your in good shape. you have the ability to red line while he'll shift around 5, so you do have somewhat of a advantage, of the line, don't spinout, rev up to 3 and let off the cluch slowly until it catches on then just let go completely, kindda like a mini launch.. if your a good driver then you could probably take him, i betten gst before..

![]() Stock for stock, it will be a driver's race, but there aren't too many DSMs that stay completely stock for long.
