lost all my power
I have an 88 lude si with 4ws. Any ways, has of late I've lost all my power. My redline is just under 7,000 rpm, but it pulls all the way up to like 7,100 rpm. But recently I've lost something, and now it stops dead at 6,000 RPM.
The exhoust pipe to the header keeps shaking it self loose, but it allways does that and this is a recent problem. another problem that I have had for a long time is the clutch floats, as in I'll drop it and the engine races and then the clutch eases it self on but I've had both these problems for a long time, and this 6k redline problem is new. My mechanic wrote down that the cooling fan should be replaced. The engine temp gague was 2/3 the way up this morning, but then when it cooled down it still didn't have any power. any suggestions. I've lost almost all my horse power. This is a 2.0L engine, my cousins 1.6L accent pulls harder now. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!! |

Re: lost all my power
if you didn't loose the power at 6k...i'd say you had a cracked manifold...but since it still works that high...dunno...

Ouch. Now you can put a racing clutch in. Does the car do anything out of the ordinary when you lose power? Like shake or make any noises? I will try to help you out

Re: lost all my power
sorry had it done yesterday. Its really tight, stalled the dang thing twice, that old clutch was so easy. But I like it, I can squel the tires going from first to secound gear.
they showed me the baring, worn down to the rivets, that thing was gone, from 150,000 miles of my sister and the previous owner holding the clutch down at the light. Idiots. |

Re: lost all my power
that was a pricey clutch job.. I paid somewhere near 450 for parts, labor, and new seals.
