98 240sx Headers and Emissions??

Hey guys. I gots a question. I have a 98 240sx LE and I want to throw sum headers on it. The thing is that the stock manifold has a small cat. converter on it. When using the new headers, the small cat is not used. Will this lack of the smaller cat. make the car fail emissions inspection.

If so, is there a way around this at all??
Is there just a top header part that comes off the block and attaches to the cat. available??

you could just emilmante that cat and put on the headers and just put in a high flow cat

True..I could do that, but will it PASS the emissions (smog) inspection with that setup.

I know at least some of you guys have headers...do your cars pass emissions with the headers on??

mine did when i had hotshot headers, just make sure your o2 sensor is plugged in. there shouldnt be any problems after that since most emissions testing is taken from the OBD2.

Im gunna get the hotshots, I hear GREAT things about them. I also hear good things about HKS. I want a deep throaty sound that wont attract the cops too much. Any suggestions??

Either the HKS Hiper or Hi Power??
