What is the smaller pan under the tranny on a 2001 Rodeo?

I have a 2wd 2001 Rodeo V6. It has been leaking ATF from the smaller of two pans (not the main pan), and I cannot find a gasket for it because nobody at the local parts houses knows what this pan (or gasket) is called.

If you're the orginal owner, it is covered under warrenty. If you are the are the second ower it should be covered for 60K.

If you really want the gasket, contact the guys at St Charles and they will help you out.

See my FAQ link below.

I would be willing to bet it's not your adaptor pan gasket thats leaking.
Above the small pan on the pass. side look for a roun black plug. Thats mast likely whats leaking, it's called an acuumulstor piston cover. Check with your local dealer it may be under warranty. I also Highly reccomend draining and refilling yout tranny at this time or having it flushed.

GOOD LUCK

I second the acummulator piston cover. Real common occurance on the 4L30E. That adapter pan is the bottom of the separate 4th gear housing. GM took the old 3spd 3L30 tranny, bolted on a 4th gear, added electonics & called it the 4L30E!! The 3L30 was actually used in the little chevy chevette!
G/luck

thanks for the feedback, fellas

turns out it was the accumulator piston cover, and it is covered by my drivetrain warranty.
