Deep Humming Noise

Hello, I have a 93 V6 Tbird (not SC) and my car is making this loud humming or grinding sound but only when I am driving straight or turning to the right. As soon as I make a left turn the noise goes away until I strigten back out and then it comes back. It does not make a difference how fast I am going but the sound is always there as long as I am moving. It sounds like something is rubbing against the tire, any ideas??????????????

Re: Deep Humming Noise

my thunderbird makes a loud humming noise. I figured, or atleast in my case, that its either the intake vaccum from the silencer being removed, or friction from the pullies.

It is happening on the front and I think it is coming from the right but it is hard to tell.

Re: Deep Humming Noise

i would check the inner fender well shields to see if your tires are rubbing against them, cause that's what it sounds like. if not that, look under your radiator for a fallen plastic shield (to protect rad if you bottom out). ot could easily be something like that. if its more serious, you might need new suspension bushings (found at www.mn12performance.com), or arm assembly, or even a brake caliper (happened to me, but i knew what it was and had similar symptom - a broken bolt). just my 2 cent$

Re: Deep Humming Noise

May need a new hub. Does the sound get louder as you go faster? Raise the front of the vehicle and spin the tire by hand. If it is the hub, you should feel it when you spin it.
