I am having the typical instrument cluster problems with my 99 silverado and I need to get into the cluster to test some things. Can anyone tell me how to take apart the dashboard so I can get at the instrument cluster? I don't want to find out the hard way by breaking something.

I replied to your other post in the Fuel gauge thread. Maybe it can help you.

Lower your steering wheel, put on parking brake, put in first gear, grab dashboard and pull gently but firmly straight out. Scared the hell out of me the first time I did it, but that's all there is to it. Work your way around it after the first clips pop loose.
