1992 325ic convertible lid closing assembly
Just bought the car used and had to take apart the convertible lid motor and assembly to replace some worn parts. When I put it back together, the motors do not receive any electricity when the open and close switches are flipped. Any thoughts? Checked all the fuses -- they are fine. Manual does not indicate which fuse is for convertible. Does it have its own separate fuses back near the motors?
One other thing. Because the whole assembly was not in working order when I bought it, I'm not sure if everything in the well is properly assembled. Even BMW parts diagrams don't show how it fits together, and none of the service books I've been able to find have any diagrams. To be more specific, I don't know how to get the cables to activate the "clamps" that keep the hood down tight on either side. It looks like there's something on that turning arm (the part that comes through the trunk) that could pull cable into proper place when it turns to close the lid, but I'm not exactly sure how it all fits together. |

I had the same problem when i got my 92 325ic. We had to take it to the dealership to get it fixed. the main problem with mine was that one of the steel bars in the top was bent so that the top wouldn't close all the way cause the top wasn't down far enough, i had to sit on it to get it to close and it bent the bar back into place, but it cost about 1k to fix
have u been able to find anything for the car, mods, body, anything? |
