Carb on a '68 350??

I am looking into this for a friend of mine who has a '68 Firebird 350. Engine is now stock. He's planning to buy a Edelbrock intake or similar, and the question is what carb would be best? Is a Holley 600/650 a good choice?

600-750 cfm is good, a vacuum secondary is nice on a mainly street driven car. If your friends 350 wasn't the HO trim it came with a 2bbl and putting in an 068 Cam (Factory cam in High Performance engines) will be best.
