Re: stalling comming to a stop

First thing that comes to mind on the stalling is a tcc problem. The torque convertor clutch has to disengague when the brake pedal is depressed & before the vehicle stops. It's like trying to stopping a clutch car without pushing in the clutch pedal.
The repair involves replacing the tcc solinoid & I like to replace the pressure switches on the valve body as a precaution while its apart. Parts run around $60.00=sol, $10.00=gasket, # of switches is
usually 2 or 3 {application} & $12.00-$40.00 set.
Remember this is a common problem on 125c trans & something to check 1st, not saying it's whats wrong.
Oil light, cant remember if they had an low oil sensor on this model, but if you check the oil pan it should be visible, start with that & or possible cluster problem.
Oil level sensor= $25.00 or so
Cluster= $175.00-$200.00 +- exchange

Definately sounds like TCC solenoid is going out. An alternative to is to just unplug it from the transmission.

Mine went out on my '90 Grand Am. Its been unplugged for a couple years now w/o a problem.

As for the oil pressure light. More than likely it is the oil pressure sending unit. You'll want to make sure that you aren't getting low oil pressure or you run the risk of damaging the engine.

Re: stalling comming to a stop

My 93 Pontiac Grand Am did this...it was a v6. If I drove it around town too much and came to a stop the motor would sputter and stall out. It would start back up but when I tried to put it into drive it would die again. I had to start it neutral and quickly pop it into drive for it to run. Took it in and they said I need a new enging. They also fixed something on the transmission but did not change the transmission (i though it was a transmission problem)
