Clutch for Rb20det

My clutch is going bad and grinding to i was wondering when i get the Rb20det swap what would be the most economical clutch. How much should i look to spend on a clutch.. That can handle in the range of 400 hp... Thanks

I belive the rb20det uses the same tranny as the 300zx and a Z32 clutch will fit it... I dunno if all z32 models fit it, the non-turbo only, or the turbo only models.... but some sorta z32 clutch fits it for sure lol.

also..... when you swap in a RB, you won't be using the same transmission, you will have a much nicer beefier tranny that can handle more power..... see the SCC article last month or there is a scan of it by Jspec Sileighty on here a few weeks back........ search or browse for it.

Z32 (1990-1996) 300zx NON turbo. I just ordered an OEM spec clutch off ebay for 120 shipped. The name of the company escapes me. You can always go with an upgraded ACT clutch to hold the HP you are looking for. Right now I just want driveability, so i went the cheapo route. Since I wont be hitting any numbers too much higher than stock, i went with the OEM clutch

It drives okay. I like it. I didnt go with the RB25 for the sole reason of price. While this is not a cheap hobby to begin with, I am on a budget. I have family and other hobbies and the RB20 front clip was onyl 1200 plus shipping from Venus so I said what the hell. It is not a bad motor at all. For the price vs performance. This was my first time boosting and it put a big grin on my face. right now it is stock. I was trying to sell it so I did ZERO modifications to it. Then the clutch went out. So I only drove it fo rmaybe two weeks (the clutch was my fault...LOL) After that gets fixed, I amgettign the exhaust done and thats it. Over winter when I have nothing to do I will upgrade the intercooler to front moutn and "hopefully" have a 91 bumper to put back on. So it is stock right now on stock exhaust on stock boost on stock everything for now.
