Just ordered the setup:
Eagle Pistons/rods, fuel pump, injectors, Apexi Power FC (w/remote), customer turbo kit (garett ball bearing) Customer intercooler, tial wastegate, BOV, clutch masters stage 3. Still need to get gauges and such....

Gonna run around 20-25 lb boost. Hopin for 400+ hp. and low 11's Will post picks when it's done (2 weeks or more)

Welcome to AF and that's a nice setup.

Where are you located, and are you working on the motor yourself, or is it going to a shop?

for some reason i dont think that with these mods you will be able to run that amount of boost.

The guy that is doing the work for me has done this several times before. He runs 30 lb on a very similar setup w/stock valve train and pushes 600+ hp. Oh yeah stock compression BTW. I've see the cars he's done with less mods running 25+ boost

Yeah I meant custom turbo kit. The turbo is garett ball bearing (don't know code for compressor), I don't know what kind of intercooler I am getting. Don't know what kind of BOV. We have been planning it out and I'm going tomorrow to order it (payday) I will know the manufacturer of everything tommorow when I order it. should be here by end of next week hopefully.

Are you going to run nitrous with the turbo? My g/f's cousin has a turbo/nitrous GSR and he runs high 12's. I see mid to low 13's in your future, unless you spray and that may get you where he is. By the way a 580hp EK hatch with a turbocharged b18c1 runs 11's that I know of, so good luck in a heavier car with 180 less hp.

I call BS right here. I'm not saying your not getting this work done. But i know personally what it takes to run this amount of boost. My Block is built to run that boost level. You may get away with close to 20psi on that setup but not more and not for long. The stock sleeves are good, but not that damn good on 10:1 compression which the gsr motor has. You will at least need a low compression headgasket. Also, I don't see any honda B series motor making 600+hp on a stock head, That's just crazy. I know guys with built heads that aren't making 600whp and are running mid to low 10's in their street car. I just hope you have alot of money because this guy seems to be feeding you some crap.

Well, doesn't matter now. Instead of the turbo I bought an STI. No problem hookin up on the stock 13.1 1/4 mile. Won't take much to get into the 12's. Like to see a 400+ honda hook up on street tires. BTW if it is locked in AWD, it will not peel out. I had heard that it would burn all 4 tires in 3 gears, which is BS. When you put more power to the rear you can get a small burnout but nothing spectacular. The headlights are way cool! You can make them point down at the road, or straight ahead. Lots of bells and whistles on this car.

All this in THREE days?

Pics please, or don't bother posting about your new STi anymore. Nobody'd believe you.

All balancing is checking for clearances... You have to do that anyways when building a motor. Its just a fancy word for checking numbers...

Balancing just helps the motor run smoother at high rpm... not really a performance adder... it just helps keep the motor from wigglin itself to death at speed...

EDIT: To the guy who was going for the Turbo setup and then randomly bought an STI...

You kept mentioning several times that you had to wait for money (payday) to order parts. Yet you just off and bought a STI?... I understand you probably financed it... but still that seems pretty Fishy.

I find it amusing that when everyone calls BS, it's all of a sudden "well i got an STi." I thought he said he already ordered all this stuff. I suspect this is the kind of person that gets "crazy boost" from their electric turbocharger and BOV simulator. Well hurry out and find some cool STi pictures on the net and post them as your own that that you can impress an anyomous internet community.
