Twitchy throttle is #1 complaint. Can't think of anything else right off the bat.

Try looking here...
http://pub114.ezboard.com/byamahar6messagenet As far as I've seen 1st to 2nd gear is clunky, but thats a Yamaha thing. The flywheel bolts have some sort of losening up problem, and the footpegs can break. I love my 02, it's the best thing I've ever bought; fast, purdy, and everything else. Oh, and I've had no trouble with it at all.

If it is your first bike I would seriously consider this(I read it on another forum):
I received my Car and Driver in the mail today. For the fine price of $402,000 you can buy a Saleen S7 that'll do 0-60mph in 3.3 sec, 1/4mile in 11.6@126mph and the magazine sez is "ridiculously fast." You could walk into your local YamaKawaHondaSuzki dealership and plunk down something along the lines of $9k OTD and buy a 600SS. Average 0-60mph time: 3 seconds. 1/4 mile time: 10.76 sec @ 128.4 mph Would you think it prudent to learn to drive with a Saleen S7? Ferrari Enzo? Lamborghini Murciela |

Im not going to assume that this is your first bike, and answer your question.
Ive spent a little time on the new '03 R6. I have a couple of friends that have them. I didnt really notice a twichty throttle. Maybe its bad adjustment, or maybe its bad rider.. I dunno. One of my friends has almost 3000 miles on his R6 and hasnt had any problems at all. Both of my friends that own them love them. They are pretty comfortable (for a SS bike.) The fuel injection is very nice. I thought the power delivery was nice and smooth. I didnt take the bike over 8000 RPMs so I cant really comment on the meat of the powerband. But the two that own it says you definately know when it hits and its a screamer!
