A/C compressor not clicking
Hi all,
the A/C relay is not clicking in my 2003 pontiac Grand AM 2.2L.. I checked the fuse and diode associated with the A/C both are fine. The relay also works when tested... Is there any other reason why the relay wouldn't click when I turn the A/C on? ![]() thanks |

Re: A/C compressor not clicking
There could be several other reasons. The BCM may not be getting the A/C request from the HVAC control assy. The PCM may not be getting the request from the BCM to ground the relay. The A/C pressure sensor may be reading less than 27psi or more than 432psi. (Low refrigerant charge or electrical fault) Ambient temperature sensor may be reading less than 38*F.

Re: A/C compressor not clicking
There is also another reason: coolant temperature too hot (engine overheating)
The most likelly cause is a low refrigerant charge due to a leak. Do NOT blindly refill the system, overcharging the system can/will cause compressor failure. |

Re: A/C compressor not clicking
might also check other fuses associated with the fans and their relays
