Ferrari 360 red bull Daytona 2004 in scala 1/18

Questo è l'inizio di un nuovo progetto, la modifica di un modello in scala 1/18 della hot wheels
Questo è il modello che voglio realizzare e ci sarà tanto da fare

il primo passo è stato realizzare le decal che in questa scala non ci sono.
Per fare questo mi ha aiutato un mio amico che con il programma Inkscape
ha trasformato tutti i vari loghi in linee e me le ha dimensionate correttamente.
Poi con il programma Gimp me le ha colorate e una volta stampate le ho posizionate
sul modello per verificare le giuste proporzioni
the first step was to create the decals which are not present in this scale.
To do this, a friend of mine helped me with the Inkscape program
he turned all the various logos into lines and sized them correctly for me.
Then with the Gimp program he colored them and once printed I positioned them
on the model to check the right proportions

the front bonnet will not be openable while the rear one will be removable as on the
car that participated in the 24 hours of daytona, the front bumper was obtained from
a French transkit greatly modified with cast and mould, the rear connector was machined
making a cast of the model of the hot whells and printed

il cofano anteriore non sara apribile mentre quello posteriore sarà asportabile come sulla
vettura che ha partecipato alla 24 ore di daytona, il parauti anteriore è stato ricavato da
un transkit francese notevolmente modificato con calco e stampo, il collegatore posteriore è stato ricavato
facendo un calco del modello della hot whells e stampato

the front hood of the Hot Wheels model has been modified by adding the naca grip

The original rear hood has also been modified by adding the entire front end

the cockpit and the rear part of the chassis (engine compartment) have been completely redone
using various available materials

Unfortunately, the Mattel model had the doors that opened incorrectly
and therefore I had to redo the rotation fulcrums by building new hinges to make them
the model closest to reality
Purtroppo il modello della mattel aveva le portiere che si aprivano in un modo non corretto
e quindi ho dovuto rifare i fulcri di rotazione costruendo delle nuove cerniere per rendere
il modello piu simile al reale

The decals that helped me draw with inkscape and that I had Fides print have arrived, they look very nice.
Le decal che mi hanno aiutato a disegnare con inkscape e che ho fatto stampare dalla Fides sono arrivate,sembrano molto belle.

before painting the frame i had to assemble brake discs, rims and tires for
be able to make a minimum set-up/height from the ground of the car.
To make the brake discs I had to draw and have photo etchings done by Exella.
the brake calipers were made with various pieces of glued plasticard and then painted
prima di verniciare il telaio ho dovuto assemblare dischi freno, cerchi e pneumatici per
poter fare un minimo di assetto/altezza da terra dela vettura.
Per realizzare i dischi freno ho dovuto disegnare e far fare delle fotoincisioni da Exella.
le pinze freni sono state realizzate con vari pezzi di plasticard incollate e poi verniciate

the rims were obtained from those of the challenge by modifying them, then I made the molds and
printed with two-component resin.
i cerchi sono stati ricavati da quelli del challenge modificandoli,poi ho realizzato gli stampi e
stampato con resina bicomponente

for the tires I turned two masters with ureol
and after making the 2 moulds
I used some prochima syntagom to print them. I glued the first Dunlop decals
of fides and I must say that I was very happy with the result
per i pneumatici ho tornito due master con dell'ureol e dopo aver fatto i 2 stampi
ho usato del sintagom della prochima per stamparli. Ho incollato le prime decal Dunlop
della fides e devo dire che sono rimasto molto contento del risultato

for the modifications of the engine compartment I made the 2 tanks and the relative heat shields
which after being painted will be covered with the carbon decals for the 2 tanks
and with silver paper for the bulkheads
per le modifiche del vano motore ho realizzato i 2 serbatoi e le relative paratie anticalore
che dopo essere state verniciate saranno ricoperte con le decal di carbonio per i 2 serbatoi
e con carta argentata per le paratie
then I moved on to the engine, starting from the original part of the hotweels I kept the lungs
on which I glued the 2 Ferrari photo-engravings to obtain the writing in relief
poi sono passato al motore, partendo dal particolare originale dell'hotweels ho conservato i polmoni
di aspirazione sopra i quali ho incollato le 2 fotolncisioni Ferrari per ottenere le scritta in rilievo

the engine the 2 valve covers, the 2 camshaft covers, the intake ducts, the flange on the gearbox were created
for the differential, the 2 throttle bodies and modified exhaust manifolds
per il motore sono stati creati i 2 coperchi valvole, i 2 coperchi degli alberi a camme, i condotti di aspirazione,
la flangia del differenziale, i 2 corpi farfallati e modificati i collettori di scarico



another detail built for the engine group is the oil tank which was made with the lathe and then other details were added.
Here too the mold was made and the definitive piece with the two-component resin
altro particolare costruito per il gruppo motore è il buiolo dell'olio che è stato realizzato con il tornio e poi aggiunti altri paticolari.
Anche qui è stato realizzato lo stampo e con la resina bicomponente il pezzo definitivo
I also needed the wheel arches, the air filter box and the mobile trellis
mi servivano anche i passaruota, la scatola filtri aria e il traliccio mobile

all these details were already ready because I had made them for another model that I finished a few years ago.
it took me a few months to make the masters. the already finished model was the Ferrari 360 Modena which in 2001 had won at the
first year of participation the ngt world championship.
tutti questi particolari erano gia pronti perche io li avevo realizzati per un altro modello che ho finito alcuni anni fa.
per realizzare i master ho impiegato alcuni mesi. il modello gia finito era la Ferrari 360 Modena che nel 2001 aveva vinto al
primo anno di partecipazione il campionato mondiale ngt.
