Intermittent SVS Light
Alright now here's a weird one. Lately, after about 10 min of driving after a cold start, the engine quickly cuts out for less than a second and it feels like the brakes are briefly
applied. About 10% of the time, the SVS, trac off, and pcs lights then turn on until I restart the car. Could this be a failing wheel speed sensor? Or am I looking at a controller somewhere. I doubt it's the abs pack, as the abs still works. I know this is hard to diagnose over the Internet without codes, but I was wondering if anybody has seen something like this before. It can happen while cruising or even while accelerating hard and it happens only once after a cold start. The engine is fully warmed up by this time, too.

Re: Intermittent SVS Light
Wheel speed sensor, or the Brake control module. Krivasauto also addresses this on his site.. http://99intrigue.shutterfly.com. I think it's called EBCM.. Electronic Brake control module.
If this occured after you went though high water I'd suspect wheel speed sensors are the issue.

Re: Intermittent SVS Light
I should clarify that it has been doing this since before I drove thru water. Also, I am leaning away from the EBTCM, as the ABS light would usually come on if that was the case.

Re: Intermittent SVS Light
First thing I would do is pull all the connections for the wheel speed sensors, maybe get some electronics cleaner and spray in them, then reseat the connections.
I have seen this many times, my Intrigue sees a lot of gravel roads and therefore dust, which makes for poor electrical connections. Usually a little connection fiddling makes everything as it should be. Also Ive noticed the sensor wiring harnesses occasionally fall off their little clips (it makes more sense when you see them) anyway they start flopping around, which can trigger and error. Had this problem a lot, finally zip-tied the stupid things onto the clips.

Re: Intermittent SVS Light
I have seen the svs light and all accompanying other ones before on gravel roads too. But usually they go out after restarting. Today when I started the car (first time in a week) the svs, pcs, trac off, and antilock lights were on immediately. Restarted and same thing. Never seen the antilock light on before. Magnasteer was also disabled and the steering was at highest effort level. After driving 25 miles and then restarting, the lights are all off. Another new thing happened last week. I was idlin in a parking spot about 10 min after cold start and the engine actually shut off and the lights came on. Restarted and it was fine.
I'm beginning to think a trip to the dealer is needed to scan for abs codes. Just wondering, do those codes keep in history like engine codes? Or do they vanish when the light shuts off?

Re: Intermittent SVS Light
I know this is nearly a year later, but the prev problem was fixed with a new rear right hub (wheelspeed sensor failure). This was done ~7 months ago.
Now, I have a new issue with the same lights illuminated (and addition of ABS and BRAKE). The following lights are on about every other ignition cycle: SVS, ABS, Brake, TCS OFF, PCS. In addition, the Magnasteer is not operating - requires more effort at parking lot speeds now. I was worried when I saw the 'brake' light on that the fluid might be low, so I took to get scanned at the dealer. The EBCM has failed. Any suggestion? The part is $900 new, which is probably more than the car is worth. Anyone have luck getting one on ebay? or junkyard?

Re: Intermittent SVS Light
i would like to say that Modulemaster was the recommended company for the repair on this part. do a search in the intrigue forums and a few threads will probably pop up.
