I'm thinking about a Mazdaspeed3. Something I can tinker with that's already turbo.

I have a love/hate thing with Mazda. They ones I've had experience with were the funnest/best driving cars I've messed with... but both also hit a point where they just catastrophically self destructed. MX-3 put a rod though the side of the block, and the 6 exploded a transmission.

On a side note, Mazda has a red color right now that is amazing.

Couldn't give me a Volvo. Especially not now, being Chinese owned.

Yeah, seems like Geely is buying up everything. I don't know, for whatever reason I like last 10 years or so of Volvo stuff. Probably not a logical reason, I just don't really like how most stuff looks now, and the Volvo stuff is a little more dialed back design wise, more subtle, cleaner lines (in my opinion).

Re: SERIOUSLY OT: Calling all chicks! IT'S PART 6!!

Sometimes I get tired of driving a modified car.... I hit something yesterday that looked like a benign bump, but it ended up bending my left front wheel and left my steering wheel knocked off center. Now I've got to buy a wheel (because it's cheaper than having it fixed) and figure out what all in the suspension is bent. Already needed upper control arm bushings, which doesn't help anything.

Thinking about raising the car back up some, and putting some 15's with some fat tires back on it.... that's if I don't talk myself into putting the car as is on craigslist, and going out and buying a truck instead.

Re: SERIOUSLY OT: Calling all chicks! IT'S PART 6!!

Alright... for the second time in my career, I've got a car I'm trying to diagnose, and I've got absolutely no clue what's wrong with it.

Came in, V6 misfiring on the front bank, all three cylinders... but only for about 10 seconds after engine start. I checked about everything I could, swapped some parts around. Came to the conclusion I needed to try a different engine computer..... switched that from a donor car, and ended up with more questions than answers.
With a different ECU, the problem switched from the front bank to the rear bank. It literally makes no sense at all.

But the car also needs a transmission, so I'm hoping the owner elects to not put any more money into this possessed car.

Obviously you plugged the new ECU in upside down... thus swapping the side of the engine that was messed up.

I think Amy is planning on doing that, I spoke to her a few weeks ago and she mentioned having a CR-V donor to pull parts from, don't know if she is using a kit or just fabricating stuff to convert though.

The kits are pricey. The fab doesn't look that difficult. I'd like to take a look at a finished car, up close.

Re: SERIOUSLY OT: Calling all chicks! IT'S PART 6!!

For a long time I've wanted to do some AWD system on my Gremlin, but for the foreseeable future its not in the cards, and its also stored at my mothers house which she is thinking about selling, so I might have to decide if its worth paying storage fees on or if I just should sell it.

Its so short the backend comes around and becomes the front end real quick lol. Does great doughnuts though.

I've always wanted to keep it inline six, but something more modern than the 258 (the 4.2 liter version of the 4.0 liter that jeep used up until the early 2000's). Obvious answer is 2jz... but I think something more unique would be more fitting. Rust is starting to take hold though, if I don't do something with it soon it wont be worth saving.
