Hot spots on rotors
Hi,
I have a new Relay3. The brakes have been squeeling since the second week. Today Saturn told me that there are "hot spots" on my front rotors. Is this normal for a new car? Should I insist they give me new rotors? I don't want to have to go for the cost down the road if this should be nipped now. The car has 500 miles on it. Thanks for your help : ) Angela |

Re: Hot spots on rotors
They should replace them free. Hot spots are a sign of poor quality due to uneven tempering.. Another words, a defective rotor that will be covered by the warranty. 500 miles? sheesh.....If the next set do the same thing, go find some aftermarket rotors. Dampened iron rotors would be my first choice. They are more expensive, but damped iron doesn't squeak(and i HATE brake squeal!)
