Thats why you can dial in the torque. You are obviously not going to use a 650 lb setting impact to drive in a tranny pan bolt but a impact wratchet set to 12 - 15 lbs sure makes removing and installing those 13 bolts a hell of a lot quicker.

I rarely use the air tools, I'm too lazy to turn the compressor on.

Yoi know, my old impact gun broke while I was trying to remove a pinion nut on a rear and I thought that was the end of the world . You just put everything into perspective for me.

I might have room in the garage soon though.
Once these studs are done, I will be spending several hours cleaning up the garage.
Once the studs are done, the car is pretty much done.

You flip a switch and in like 45 seconds you have like 90 - 100 PSI. How can that get any easier. Air tools just make most major jobs so much easier,

Re: Banter Thread Part 3 (Back with a Vengeance, this time its personal)

don't worry, i know all about it. but i've helped friends swap engines, not a compressor in sight. my mate's brother decided he wanted to be extra safe, every single bolt was done by hand with a torque wrench. we weren't to use a single air tool. it would've been quicker if we could use air tools to REMOVE the bolts...

either way, it was one of those things. i would get a compressor, but i don't have either the money or the space for it.

Oh, I am not saying for you but for someone like me or Curtis who has a garage and spends alot of time working on your car. They sure as hell make things alot easier and I totally agree on the removal only part. Torqueing things by hand to specs will alot of times save a ton of hassle but a bolt on a car that has been on there for years and years and years (especially exhaust related bolts). Impact guns save you time and headaches.

I have to walk all the way across the room, open the door, make an immediate left into the primary paint room, walk all the way over to the breaker box and flip the breaker on. Then all the way back into the main room and get the air tools and hook them up, then walk all the way back to my car...too much work.

, oh man. I so needed to hear something like that. That just so reminded me of Rally taking a break on his couch on the front lawn on his walk from the driveway to the front door.

I tried to talk Rally into selling that couch earlier to buy a 93 Z28 that's in DFW, he said he wasn't going to get rid of his couch for anything.
