Went to their website just now to see what the newer eclipses look like... Apparently the eclipse is an SUV now... Because sure, why not.

For what its worth the Eclipse was never a sports car. It was a sport compact.

They also didn't turn it into a SUV. They just gave an SUV a name of Eclipse Cross.

I need a good excuse to talk my wife into letting be buy a bench lathe, other than "I want to make some shit."

Re: SERIOUSLY OT: Calling all chicks! IT'S PART 6!!

Like one of those toy table top ones?

If you search around you can find nice proper sized ones very cheap usually, you just have to be prepared to move a few thousand pounds of iron. But then theres also the cost of tooling, and a spot to put it, plus you'll need a phase converter because it will most likely be 3 phase.

End of the story is everything is expensive... and... something. Potatoes? No... fuck.. I have no idea where I'm going with this.

Holy crap it was hot today boys. Debating on not converting my garage back, in favor of having a nice air conditioned space to work on stuff in.

No, was talking about a big mama jama. Found out this weekend that I my dad has one stuck over the the corner of his barn, so I can just use it when I need/want to. He also has an old mill that's covered in dust, and he's not even sure it works anymore.

My welding stuff is set up as of this weekend. Need to get some practice in, and get my technique back up to snuff.

Nice! I follow a couple of manual machining channels on youtube. I'm more of a cnc type person, but the manual stuff is fun too.

Maybe you can find one this size https://youtu.be/9k_sZkuteec

Re: SERIOUSLY OT: Calling all chicks! IT'S PART 6!!

Probably another Volvo. I like the car, its just got some quirks that weren't worked out until a year or two later. Mainly the transmission, its real jerky, especially when accelerating from a stop it feels like it slams it into first gear, and when you slow down the downshifts are harsh enough to jerk you forward in the seats sometimes. From what I've read on a couple of Volvo forums its normal for this year model, in 12 and 13 they used a 6 speed automatic (the one I have) that never really was very good, but in 14 they switched to an 8 speed that is supposed to be much smoother.

Also the 5 cylinder that I have, for that year they had issues with the oil rings going bad and causing excessive oil consumption. Mine doesn't have that problem, but it could show up at some point.

If I'd done better research both of those things would have been easy to learn before hand, but I needed a car at the time and it was available and in my budget, so live and learn lol.
