Spy photographers have caught the next-generation Honda Ridgeline pickup truck undergoing testing.
This is the first close-up look we’ve gotten of the new Honda Ridgeline, giving a good glimpse of the pickup’s front grille and headlights along with the overall front-end design. It also appears that the new Ridgeline will go for a more traditional rear end compared to the design of the current Ridgeline. So far, Honda has only teased the next-generation Ridgeline with a sketch saying the “all-new truck will take the original’s award-winning performance, comfort and utility to new levels with completely new styling that communicates unmistakably that it’s a pickup, yet with a uniquely Honda flair.”
Our spy photographers also managed to get a photo of the new Ridgeline prototype testing alongside a current Ridgeline, giving us a good idea of the overall size of the two models. It appears that the new Honda Ridgeline will be similar in dimensions to the current model.
As for powerplants, expect the Japanese automaker to pull from its Earth Dreams family as well as the use of the company’s new SH-AWD hybrid system developed for larger vehicles.
