6 series, CLS, Cayman ?? undecided!
Okay, if you were a 22 year old male what would you pick: BMW 6 series, Porsche Cayman S, or Mercedes Benz CLS?
- I think the 6 is the best looking (My opinion) also the most $$ - CLS is the most elegant - Porsche is the true sports car and probably the most fun to drive I honestly think that I can’t go wrong. They are all nice. I have test driven them all, just can’t decide! |

Re: 6 series, CLS, Cayman ?? undecided!
It all depends what you want from a car. You should try to figure out what your priorities are.
If you are planning on carrying a bunch of people around the CLS might be the best choice just because it has four doors. You also might want to check out an Audi RS4. Its a little smaller and won't have the mystique of a large Mercedes, nor will it be quite as luxurious, but I guarantee you the Audi would be faster and more fun. If you really just want a balls out sports car, the Cayman S is obviously the best choice. There just isn't a comparison in performance next to a 650i and a CLS550. You also might want to check out the BMW Z4 M-Coupe. Its less expensive, more powerful, and will probably be less common. It doesn't have the Porsche badge, but it is still a great car. One of my 2 favorite modern BMWs that I don't happen to own (the other is the M5). The 6-series is a very good car as well. Its quicker and has a sportier look to it then the Benz, but it is more reasonable as a daily driver then the Cayman S. Its the compromise car. Best of both worlds. I would suggest a BMW M3 as well, but since there is a new one coming out next year it would be foolish to get one right now (even though I love mine). So there you have it. Can you really live with the Cayman? Do you really want a 4-door? If it were up to me, I would buy the BMW 650i or an RS4 if it were to be my only car. If I had some other form of transportation for when I needed to carry more then 2 people, I would get the Cayman S or the M-Coupe depending on your ability to pay for options on the Cayman. The decision lies with you in the end.

porsche. If you're 22, the CLS doesnt give off that "youthful" vibe. The 6 is cool, but i think that the porsche would fit your needs best.

I really like the new cayman. I would go for it if you have the means.

CLS is far too grown up for a 22 year old, you'd just look like you're driving around in daddy's car. Daddy's probably buying the car anyway, but you don't need to advertise that by driving a car that's designed for older people.
Get a Cayman S. |

The CLS isnt youthful like stated above, the Cayman is probably your best bet. But the 6 is pretty nice and a 22 y/o wouldnt look out of place driving it (as long as you do a little modifications like rims or somthing).

Re: 6 series, CLS, Cayman ?? undecided!
I actaully just graduated college and landed a great job making good money. I have 20k to put down and I will be able to make the payments easily. This is the time to do it because I do not have any other huge expenses in my life right now:-) I agree that the CLS is too grown man. I will either go with the 6 or the cayman. Im getting the car in early 07 so I have time. I do like the RR sport if I decide to go with an SUV. I think I'll be happy with whatever decision I make.
