Question 03 Sonoma Please Help Me

I have a 2003 Sonoma (2.2L 4-cylinder) and for about 3 months now I've been having this problem. After driving about 45 minutes straight my truck will act like it is out of gas, start sputtering and go dead. So I pull over and have to turn the truck off for about 2 minutes and it will start again. After that happens it starts doing the same thing every 10 - 15 minutes. But letting it sit over nite usually (not all the time) wont do it again til 45 more minutes of driving. But some days nothing will be wrong. I need some serious help and ideas cause im stuck at the moment.

Please give me any ideas.

Re: 03 Sonoma Please Help Me

Could be a few things. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and watch fuel pressure while its running. Drive it. As soon as it begins to sputter, take a look at the gauge and see what the fuel pressure it. Normally, the pressure should be a constant, no matter what the truck is doing. If its junping up and down, you have a fual related problem. If the pressure stays strong even after it stalls, your fuel system is alright. From there if the pressure checks out, the next thing I would be looking at would be ignition. Before that though, check fuel pressure first and make sure its at spec.
