Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies

Ok, here are a couple of pics like I promised:

If you want to see it yourself, the video is below (about 1:45 in. Very short but worth a look!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdLWueNFyBI

And here's a question: What year model do you think they are? 1996? Don't know why I think that....

Seriously looking forward to Hot Persuit.

Driving an F1 in an open world environment is gonna be epic.

Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies

So sorry about the first post in this thread, it's embarrasingly poor - but I really
don't have much time to do anything with it, maybe after exams or something. If Erik wants to somehow make it editable by others, feel free.

Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies

Gran Turismo 5 official car list has been released and there are only three McLarens.

http://www.gran-turismo.com/local/jp...arlist_en.html

McLaren F1 1994
McLaren F1 GTR 1997 (note its listed under BMW whilst the other F1 is listed under McLaren)
McLaren MP-4 12C 2011

All three are premium models with interiors except for the GTR which is a standard model carried over from GT4.

Actually there is a 4th model. The black "Stealth Model" Mclaren F1 LM/GTR?.

Gordon Murray would probably not approve of that vehicle's aero-balance.

Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies

A little teaser for those who are anxious about Gran Turismo 5. I can't believe I found this video just today if it was posted in April 2nd. This video shows the only thing I'll want to do when I finally get my hands on the game: running a black McLaren F1 around Nordschleife. Here's the link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stCjSGXPnVs&

Enjoy.

A shot of the F1 from Forza 4 - they just keep raising the bar with these games. We're getting to the point where it will be difficult to tell what's digital and what's reality.

While I'm at it - here's some cool GT5 shots. I might have to break down and buy one of these gaming consoles.

Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies

Anyone playing Forza Motorsport 4?

All McLaren F1s from Forza 3 return except for the Gulf longtail GTR and hooray the original roadcar is newly included-and you can explore it in Autovista as well like in the shot of the orange F1 posted up by Peleton up the page. Cars look great and sound terrific, havent paid much attention to the details whether they be right or wrong as I havent had much time to play the game outside of work and uni but will have a good look this weekend if I have the time.

Several McLaren F1s are available as level reward choices:

McLaren F1 roadcar is a level reward upon reaching level 31 in career. McLaren F1 GT is a level reward upon reaching level 37 and the FINA longtail GTR racer is a choice of reward at level 44.

There is a Forza aero kit available for the original roadcar but honestly it looks like garbage on the car, like a tacked on afterthought, Gordon Murray probably wouldnt approve Im guessing. I was hoping for LM aero parts but no . The engine can be twin turbocharged and upgraded, in naturally aspirated form it looks as it is capable of over 800hp and with the turbos near a 1000hp although I havent brought much of the upgrades yet as I dont have the credits.

Shame they cut the Gulf GTR as it was one of my favourite of the GTR longtail racers. The Loctite car still remains though and they have fixed the dead cockpit display in the BMW FINA racer.
