Thumbs down HELP! Please? (Headlights...)

Ok, I have a 99 Jimmy/Envoy auto.

The same old same old, my (HID) headlight went out, it will cost at least 900.oo to replace the ignitor and the ballast.

Now with research, I've found a few work arounds: re-wiring, Kits, and so on.

I'd prefer not to re-wire much, if anything if I can help it.

I found someone that said you can buy the after market equivalent of the parts I need at Xenonreplacement.com but I don't know what I need as far as the bulb(does the bulb come with the ignitor?) or ballast.

I also found that someone said they just bought a aftermarket HID conversion kit and took the plates off the old headlight and added the new ones.. Anyone know what kind of kit this would be, where I can get one, and what plates I need to have taken off?

Any other ideas??

Any help will be greatly appreciated, after all the bad luck with my GT, my husband's car, illnesses and what not I just can't afford a grand to fix a headlight, I JUST bought this car, I work 7 days a week, drive mostly at night right now, and need to get it fixed asap, I got pulled over twice yesterday in as many hours about it!

Thanks again!

Is there a scrapyard nearby that might have a ballast?

No.. I've been a bunch, and the Envoy Jimmy is hard to come by..

I found a post on another forum that gave me a little incite, but still a little confused.

Think I just need to pull a 9006 retainer from like car (90's buick?) or whatnot, get a HID conversion kit, and go from there.

Thanks, I'll give that a good search, at least now I know what direction to go.
