2002 LW100, ran out of gas, won't start now?
The car stalled while driving and wouldn't restart. My wife thinking it was out of gas called 3A who put gas in the tank but the car won't start now (it cranks but won't catch). It is on its way home now on a tow truck. What shoud I look for when it arrives? She tells me this happened once before (news to me!) and the tow truck driver knew how to get it started but she doesn't remember now.

Well so much for phone communication. When the car made it home I cranked it and it sort of caught then died; cranked it once again and it started and stayed running???? My guess is that it was flooded but I wasn't there so I'll never know. All seems to work right now.

had the same problem with my l300 after it was ran out of gas be careful because once gm fuel pumps are run dry ie no gas they start to fail and youll get intermitent stalling and hard starts until it just wont run and needs pump replacement

Re: 2002 LW100, ran out of gas, won't start now?
Yeah its more than likely the fuel pump. When you run your vehicle on less than a 1/4 tank, your risking burning up your fuel tank. Your fuel pump is cooled by the fuel in the tank, therefore if there is little or no fuel in the tank, your gonna overheat and burn up the fuel pump. Install a new pump and be sure to keep at least a 1/4 tank in it.
