help-for show-cleaning my trumpet exhaust

Hey everyone I am going to be showing our 66 mustang on saturday and want to clean up the black soot on part of my trumpet exhaust and was wondering what the best way for doing this is- I also want to polish the chrome on top of the windshield-a little dirty from the top(its a convertible) and was wondering what is best to use on the chrome? Thanks for the help!
