AIV
I build cars For Panoz. The AIV is Sweet, the Esperante are a mean demon with the superchargers some customers are ordering as a package item. Next week I will be the proud new owner of the very red car you see posted with the black interior. Goodbye Z28, Hello AIV?? (Still deciding..it sure is nice to put those TTops back in when it rains and is cold. ) the AIV Roadster is blazing fast and a total kick in the crotch to drive. Cramped, Rude at 55mph and LOUD. Everything you want in a Harley with 4 wheels! **snicker**:flash:

I have to agree that when the top is on it is near impossible to get in and out of the vehicle. I also own a 98. The vehicle is a blast to drive. I live in an area that is common for Vettes, Porches, Ferrari's etc. I can pull along side one with my Panoz and I get the attention. All the other cars are more common. I considered the Z06 for 2002 and also the Lotus Elise with the Honda V-tec conversion. After doing a bunch of research I bought my Panoz and do not regret it at all. I also live in an area where I can driver pretty much year round and do not need the top so I am extremely lucky. Glad to see another Panoz owner on this forum. You up for any more competitive biddding on e-bay?

AIV Roadster (bidding)
Hadaz,
It seems to me that we were bidding against each other on one of those Panoz showroom signs. I finally ended up with one, as the person who put the first one on Ebay had another, and I won the bidding on that one. $350. I had been lead to believe that there were 500-600 AIV Roadsters being built a year. As it turns out, only 235 total vehicles were produced. I bought 2 extra windshields. Maybe I should stockpile a fender or two also. I'm envious that you get to drive yours so regularly. Up here in the Seattle area I just put the beast away for the winter. I don't drive it or my '65 Sunbeam Tiger at all in the winter rains... :stormzap: Thanks for the reply. Any other AIV owners out there?? |

Merry Christmas
I knew about the second sign. After the 1st auction the guy who had them e-mailed and told me about the other sign(s). I was lead to believe that he had 2 more from the way the e-mail was worded. Anyway I am glad to see you got one of them. I guess I still can wait, my time will come. Here are the actual production numbers by year:
1990 1 1991 0 1992 10 1993 23 1994 7 1995 6 1996 1 1997 56 1998 76 1999 55 I do not have the information on how many colors in each year. Also only five were built with JAMCO superhargers. Those five were part of the 10 built as anniversary models. I wonder if they are still putting JAMCO's into the cars or did they switch to another brand. I was considering on putting one onto my car. |

So did you buy the AIV? Haven't seen any posts on it. Two AIV's up for auction in Arizona this month. One of them is from Park Place LTD (1999) the other is a 98 from where I do not know yet.

What aftermarket goodies are there for this car? That would be very nice, a "souped up" Panoz AIV.

It uses a Mustang Cobra engine, so any mods for it, should work in the AIV.

Well, you will have to worry about space. That means, lots of work 'customizing' parts, you will need a good garage
