sohc non vtec just kicked in, yo.

So, my muffler rotted out and is now dissconnected form the exhaust on my civic. I went to buy a new one at the auto parts store and the clerk asked if I wanted a welded or pieced together assembly. I, being the manly man that I am didn't want to admit that I didn't know the difference. I opted for the welded assembly. I mean, they must both fit, right? What is the difference? I am guessing the only difference is that you don't have to pre-weld all of the parts to the welded assembly, right?

On a side note, I have never had more ricers try to race me now than ever. It never stops. Can't wait to get the new muffler on, thought. I am pretty sure it's just an OEM one. No stupid fart can. If it is a fart can' i'll live with it.

i believe with a one-piece welded one, you have to remove it all in one and there's little chance of leaks. with a bolted multi-piece one you can remove parts and replace them, new cats, new muffler etc.. and keep other parts. if you get a bloted-together one you dont need to weld, just bolt.

Never be afraid to ask the difference between parts, that's how you learn.

I say try to return it for the OEM bolt on piece. Or find one on Ebay for cheap, that's what I did when my muffler was destroyed on a curb... Freak Auto Cross accident, how I managed to fish tail a FWD, I will never know.
