2000 grand Prix GT Minor upgrades
Greetings,
My car: 2000 Grand Prix GT 3.8L - stock - 121,000 miles My Objective: Increase performance with small upgrades --- I am gaining interest in the performance aspect of cars and in this I would like to increase my cars performance(outside of breaking my bank). I am in the process of receiving a cold air intake which I will install with the help of my friend. Which leads me to my set of questions. 1.) Should I buy a performance PCM? I read some information regarding upgrading the PCM or ECU as its called. The information stated that using a performance PCM with a cold air intake will give me a noticeable boost of HP. 2.) Can my engine take it? I really do not want to overpower my engine's level of operating criteria. 3.) What else can I do for HP? I know alot of the options and prices therein, but cannot afford them. lastly.. 4.) With these two upgrades, will I actually notice increased performance and HP? Thanks for your time, OJ |

Welcome to AF OJ.
You will notice an improvment on power with a CAI over stock air boxes, and with the aftermarket pcm you should feel the differance. It would be best to at least hav a cat back exhaust with the CAI & PCM then its a much bigger differance.
