removing old spark plugs 1988

I have a Maxima (1988) with 215,000 miles on it and I purchased it with 94,000 miles on it. I have never replaced the spark plugs on it. The car runs great but I'd like to replace the plugs and they aren't turning. I'm afraid to break them while trying to remove them. Does anyone have any suggestions how to go about this?
Thanks anyone!
