I cant seem to search on my phone. Does anyone have or know a good place to purchase a 1969 steering column bearing? Thanks.

Re: 1969 El Camino steering column bearing.
Found it!!! I first purchased an all metal bearing from ecklers 30 bucks shipped. Sadly, this was not the right bearing. Dont be too sad...all you have to do is go down to your local privately owned shop and theu have a treasire trove of older GM steering column parts from over the years and usually be very happy to give them up. Always offer money though. Cant expect anything free these days. CRAZY. I also spent 10 shipped for the spring, also from ecklers i believe. So i basically wasted 40 bucks and a week of waiting. Doesnt hurt to ask. If they dont want cash you can bet they will take a 12 pack.

IIRC the original lower bearing was Delrin. Another option would be to have a replacement machined from UHMW, but your method seems to have worked just fine (maybe better).
