92 sc2 vaccuum leak?
i think i may have a vaccuum leak. mainly bc midas told me so... they didnt put it on diagnostics yet bc i didnt wanna pay 80.00 quite yet.. the car is running so horribly and its pouring gas into my engine and not being consumed.. i went from filling up once a week to every other day now.. i did look around under the hood and there is a small amount of gas coming out where my header is bolted to the engine.. could that gasket cause all this trouble? my oil and antifreeze are fine so i dont think its my head gasket... also when i drive it will all of the sudden go from running crappy to running normal and idles super high for a second then slowly idles back down to normal then eventually within 3 minutes of driving goes back crappy.... i dont have a check engine light on but maybe my light burnt out?

Replace your ECTS. It has a two wire connector. I have posted a video for this before. Clean your Throttle body also

Re: 92 sc2 vaccuum leak?
A 92 will not kick a light till something is REAL wrong!!!!
When my temp sensor went I dropped from over 30MPG to under 23!!!! AND I had wacky idle speeds also. I would get someone else to eyeball it and see if there is realy gas pouring out, and if not, change that sensor first, and report back your findings. |

ECTs can still go bad again. I would check the connector for corrosion aka green shit. If there is oil leaking out of the valve cover that too can cause a fire. It needs to be taken care of. Pull the spark plug wires out... if they have oil on them it's leaking... if they don't and there is some on the outside of the head... it's still leaking. Replace it. Take a picture if you need to. Post it on here for us to see what you are seeing. Most importantly.... TAKE OUR ADVICE! Whoops.... didn't know you were two different people. Still cleaning the TB should be a maintenance.

Next time you have hihg idle shut the car off and see if it goes away. If it does then you need to replace the tps with a OEM. Don't get aftermarket.
