Suspension for my truck
Ok so i've decided to build my own truck from scratch, the only problem is, i want Baja Trophy Truck suspension on it. Does anybody have any suggestions for the suspension?

Re: Suspension for my truck
What you may want to look at is building a "prerunner".
A prerunner is a production-based truck with heavily modded off-road suspension. It is designed to allow desert racers to drive the entire length of a desert race course before the actual race, to review the course for obstacles, hazards, race strategy etc. Such prerunners incorporate much of the custom-made desert race truck technology, but on a cheaper, production-based chassis. Search the net for "how to build a prerunner" for more info. |

Re: Suspension for my truck
It's much cheaper and easier to modify an existing truck. Many companies offer a variety of performance suspensions for such vehicles.
Building one from scratch would be a monumental task. You would need a mountain of chassis tubes, welding jigs, tube benders, miter saws, grinders, cut-off wheels and a masters engineering degree to get it right. If you simply must have a race truck, take a look around and see if anyone is selling one. Sure it may be bent, obsolete and need lots of repair, but it might be easier and better to find one instead of building your own. |
