just one thing.
www.eb110.com/ tells u every detail about jochen dauers modifications etc saves me typing it all out as its 12 20 am and i ant b bothered , otherwise i would.Of the 36 assembled, only 31 were completed. The German manufacturer bought the remaining 5 unfinished Bugatti EB110SS after the company went broke in 1995. They also bought all the equipment required to build the EB110SS and set up shop in Germany to complete the remaining 5 with a 'Made In Germany' tag on them. Jochen Dauer plans to build 6-8 units a year for the same price as what they were when they first were built. The modifications made to the EB110SS, now named the Dauer EB110SS Evolution, includes a 200kgs weight reduction and Carbon-Fiber Body among other things. When Volkswagen took over the distraught company in 1995, they wanted no part with Jochen Dauer and so he bought the assemblage items and headed off to Germany where he now supplies parts, services, and of course new Bugatti or now Dauer EB110's. thats from my homepage at http://need4speed.topcities.com/ where i have over 100 pics of the eb110ss and gt uploaded with another 200 pics on th ecomputer waitingto be uploaded and done :licker:

He sold it LOOOONG ago (in approx 1995) to a private buyer from Cologne/Germany. I touched it, sniffed it and sat in it in November 1999. Still there. It's the only EB110 SS that left the factory with a carbonfibre body.

What was the nature of this dislike?

Wrong Sir,
Dauer has changed completely the body. It is all in carbon fiber and well made by NITEC. The history says that Dauer could not finish the 8 cars, not 5, because there were not anymore body pannels available. Only the yellow is in alluminium and the black is mixte. All the others are completely in carbon fiber, with molds made out of a finished car.
Dauer's problem is the price.......the car is better then the original....but it is not original.
Just for your info: GT 560 HP and 600 Nm - SS 621 HP and 720 Nm
342 kmh the GT and 351 kmh the SS - 0-100 kmh of the GT 3,6 sec...the SS 3,27 sec - 1.850 kgs the GT - 1.625 Kgs the SS - The 4 turbos were starting all at the same time ( no sequentiality )
Ciao

I read up on this car, and it can't compete with the McLaren in acceleration times wearing 1,100 extra pounds of materials. Not to mention that it's rather small 3.5 liter displacement, even with four turbos, provides torque a little higher in the rpm range than the McLaren's V12.

Edited by: igor@af
Same power, more torque, but also 4WD which means more weight,
In 1995, at the POKKA 1.000 ( 1.000 kms of SUZUKA ) BPR race, with a standard Bugatti with synchromesh and ratios so long that the 6th never has been engaged, until Eric Hélary was at the wheel, 3 of the 8 Mc Larens were in front of us..........but 5 were behind. Thank to 4WD we could drive 2 sessions with a set of tires. Considering that every 50 min there is the pit stop of 25 sec for refuelling + 20 seconds for tires replacement, we gained 20 sec every hour and 40 minutes. The F40s of Michelotto needed refuelling every 40 minutes. They were unbeatable on the lap time, but they even did not finish the race.

The bugatti EB110 was originally styled by Marcello Gandini. However, Romano Artioli, whose ideas gave birth to the EB110, decided to redo the front end and sides
And the chassis which was in honeycomb with aluminium pannels for the first 5 Gandinis cars.
. His work obviously wasnt the best outcome.
Wrong - Artioli's cousin, Arch. Gianpaolo Benedini redesigned the car and the GT born. The car was terribly heavy and with such a turbo lag, it was not a pleasure to drive it. Not effective at all on the street. Unsellable. New strategy. Cost reduction by parts removal and price encreasement for the expected performances.....a wild bull.
The car came in 2 different forms. A slightly slower 200 mph version called the EB110 GT, with the rear quarter windows and slightly smaller intakes and the EB110
SS (supersport, the one pictures in all 3 photos above) and had the 7 holed side pods for air intake, and 2 special naca ducts leading into the plexiglass top of the engine bay.
The 3/4 windows as you call them, were motorised in the GT. They were opening by starting the engine. Target......weight out and then 2 electric motor out with the 4 glasses. Simply replaced by a piece of carbon fiber with 7 holes for giving fresh air to the engine area.
The EB110SS was the car that achieved 212 MPH. Dauer has bought the plans and molds, and already I see 2 styling changes.
Just the parts....no plans and no molds
One is the front airdam cutline is raised to just below the headlights. Two is the rear exhaust outlets were modified. Dauer is expected to make the car with an even more powerful, faster engine features, and updated interior.
He is German and he likes this kind of exhaust. Same as Brabus.

You are missing just 100 cars - 131

131 cars have been produced. Of those only 17 SuperSport
