My Little GTO's
I currently have two 2006 GTO's and one is just a little modified with K&M cool air intake, corsa exhaust system and put on the Dyno for 456 RWHP. It does good as steet, family car and that's what's so good about the Pontiav GTO's, thier versital. High end speeds... 177MPH
Now my other 2006 GTO is a special vehicle to me, and I don’t drive it at all. It only has 470 miles on the vehicle and I'm debabating on taking it to the local car shows around town. It rides extremely comfortable compared to any boxy Mustang or the Corvettes on Michigan roads, not good. The back seat is actually roomy in a GTO. They should have gone with it, because it is one sweet ride with a lot of awesome power. My "2006 Pontiac GTO REVENGE LINGENFELTER" is one of a kind and will get 0 to 60 in 3.8 sec. 530 WRHP. Now that was to be Pontiac's, "Revenge" to the Mustang. I Should I take it to car shows or not? |

Re: My Little GTO's
As read on this website a couple years ago, when GTO was still being bad-mouthed and ridiculed, from a mopdern Mustang owner: "Those have got to be the ugliest tail lights and exhaust tips I've ever seen!" Reply from me: "It's nice to know, after 35 years, some things never change, like the view Mustang owners get of GTO..."
There was never any doubt among REAL car guys, the late model GTO is every bit what it was intended to be, and even MORE car than any previous GTO. In reality, the 400 HP version IS quicker than a 1970 Ram Air IV car, which was considered the pinnacle of GTO performance. As for Mustang, well, beauty is in the eye of the BEER holder... I'm not a fan of "retro", as that's just whoring off past glory. GTO was built as a MODERN car, not intended to immitate the past. And the supercharged Mustang? Who cares? Can we put a blower on GTO and call IT stock? Glad you see it for what it really is! Jim |

Re: My Little GTO's
I'd take her to all the car shows you can. I've got an 04 and I sleeved the right rear valance and installed a borla dual exhaust. I think that's the only item Pontiac missed before they brought here from down under. But, Holden was going heads up with BMW which is why the 04's had the exhaust exiting the left side only.
If you look at GTO's as they progressed through designs over the years they we're headed to this design in my opinion. Show her off... |
