Model Factory Hiro Alfa Romeo Tipo 33

Model Factory Hiro has a serious name in the model making business, but, it's not until you open a box of their model and discover a true masterpiece inside. With this model I will have to take my magician hat and stick and make some magic to finish this impressive model car kit in about 3 weeks or less in order to be on time for next 2009 GSL XXII...let's see what happens and what's inside...

With just see the outside of the box, you will stasr to think that somethin not common it's inside due to the look of this box, this is not the kind of box we are custom to see every day.

When you opened the box I said: "This a mayor league model kit". Everything is perfectly separated..nothing less for a $200+ kit. How many parts!....

What a bunch of white metal parts!, over 100 and almost everyone has to be polished the desired look..I guess it will take forvever!

Crisp and clear of imperfections body inside a solid plastic clear box that can be used to display a 1/43 or 1/28 model. Tires and wheel are also here.

The body in one piece with the turned parts.

The sectioned body.

Real impressive photetch pad. Almost al the parts are free of the spure that hold the part, it's all peel and glue!

Decal sheet and the vaccuformed bubble windshield. As impressive as the rest of the kit.

The action has started, after a couple of nights most of the parts were cleaned, just waiting to separate the etched parts that will be painted in the the different shades of black. Here we can see also a clouse up of the parts with it's black color designation.

The front suspention parts are test fitted in order to avoid any surprises at final stage after painting the parts. This is one of the cons with this kit, if it can be called this way, everything has to be test fittted.

Here can be seen the front suspention partially mounted.

The engine block with the transmition attached. At this stage, everything starts to take color.

The rear suspention frame with some of the turned parts, like the shocks, attached.

The block, transmition and frame together for the first time...Now we have color!

The chassis/cockpit floor along with the front and rear suspention components.

Now everthing has been put apart for painting.

Re: Model Factory Hiro Alfa Romeo Tipo 33

Here again...iAlthough it doesn't look a lot, it has take a lot of night until late hours. In this stage, I'll be taking care of the black colored parts and chassis detailing. To give certain variety, I'll be using different blacks, from acrylic, enamel, and lacquer.

Here can be seen the great amount of parts that has been cleaned(white metal folks!).

The amount of different black shades.

Even the distribution cap wire has to be painted, because, it comes in raw metal shade.

This tiny parts that has just milimeters of lenght are to be painted also in black.

Now already inside the cockpit, there's nothing like buffed metal for the true look. It has scuffed with a wire brush on my Dremel.

The front suspention components are already mounted. It just need some caliper wiring and plumbing. It has to wait until some nuts and bolts arrive from the mail.

The rear suspention also almost completed, but, like it's front counterpart...it has to wait for the mailman.

Now, everything together in a mockup for the very first time to see how it looks...

Beautiful! Nice detail and very clean.

PS: The hatch of your car looks to be your favorite photo booth.

Very nice build and a great thread Porsnatic! Have you given any thought to making the front bodywork removable? It seems a shame to hide all that beautiful detail once the body goes on.

Yes, actually, that's what I'm planning, but, I don't know. This is not a kit that you can get everywhere and it will be too risky. Oh yes, this guys I think didn't think about this at engineering time.

Thank for watch this.

I have this kit and was actually thinking about selling it but your thread is making me want to hang on to it, lol. Don't think mine would look as good as yours though.
