2.0 non turbo
Ok I need to know if a turbo from a 2.0 eagle talon will fit a 2.0 dodge neon. If not would one from a 2.0 pt cruiser work seeing as they are the same engine..

Re: 2.0 non turbo
use the turbo assmebly off of a srt4/pt turbo. you will need manifold, turbo, and ic. you will need to fabricate piping, oil lines, coolant lines, exhaust. you will also need to get wastegate, fuel system, and a computer

Re: 2.0 non turbo
if you want to use your factory fuel system and factory sensors/computer, without any form of modification to it, good luck. but if you start playing with fuel pressures and injectors sizes, you better know EXACTLY what your doing. otherwise pickup a piggyback unit/safc/or stand alone, and tune properly/safely

Re: 2.0 non turbo
you can do the install and it will run, but you run a real risk of going boom. i mean think about it. more air, same fuel? boom! bigger injectors/higher fuel pressure to accomidate for fue? too much gas when not under boost, fouls plugs, o2sensors, cats, etc; needless to say, in this day and age, you dont want to waste more gas then necessary.
the factory computer has some play with everything, as long as your not WOT (open loop system does not use o2 sensor, so it will run with a preset fuel map, meaning that while underboost, its not matching fuel!!!!!!!) you really are going to want to pick up a SAFC at the bare minimum. if you want to do it better, then pick up a emanage or a power-paq. or if you really want to do it then pick up an AEM EMS unit available in the next month or so!!! das, most turbo kits dont come with computer/injector/programmer setups, they leave that up to you because every car is different and every state requires differnt things for smog. so you are on your own. it might work on a stock 1gen, but i dont know for sure. but everything i have done with turbos tells me that you need to match with fuel, well and timing too, if you can. when you add boost you need to retard timing (approx. .75*/psi of boost) to prevent detonation; but thats a totally differnt story all together |

Re: 2.0 non turbo
Ok lets say I went with a stock eagle talon turbo nothing spec. and I do the fuel up grade and all the other stuff would I be able to use a programmer on ecm without upgradeing it just yet.. I am only putting the turbo for a small gain.. I mean I am talkin 8 psi , that is just for right now.. I know that is sort of kinda a waste but u have to drive the car to understand, its incrediblely fast for a sohc auto..
