Re: Bare Metal Torch
Thank you so much Chuck. I did it in bits and pieces over a number of nights. I'd have to guess around 20 hours but it could be more. (probably 40, ha, ha!) AND the background isnt even done. I'm leaving it unfinished tho. May fix the had holding the torch for better accuracy on the grip. I also will add trim holes on the car as well as touch up a couple spots. maybe...

Re: Bare Metal Torch
This might be one to just leave alone and enjoy as is....
I think just trying to do a tattoo like that one would take me 20 hours. (lol) |

Re: Bare Metal Torch
Thanks Chuck. Yea, now that you mention it, I did spend some time on the tattoo alone. I a.so didn't include time spent on research and example gathering.
Funy thing about this piece, The other day I was listening to Brian Setzer's Ignition CD when the song that actually inspired this came on. It was supposed to be named "Santa Rosa Rita" and look completely different. After beginning the drawing I had to stop and hit work heavy by the time I got back to it, I couldn't remember my original dorection on it, having never done a sketch concept. I also designed the girl to do several versions with different costumes and hair styles. non are the way I'd initially seen it in my mind… Ha! Looks like there will be one more version with the car initially intended… Hint, early 60's Hot Rod in traditional gear... |

Re: Bare Metal Torch
I really like this one, the glow from the torch and the sanded bare metal looks great!

Re: Bare Metal Torch
Thank you C. Green, I try.
I think 24 1/2 years as an animator and storyboard artist have helped me a little. |
