Nash Automobiles
The Nash automobile was built from 1917 to 1957. It was one of the last four surviving independent motor manufactures that stayed viable just before the WW II.
In in the 1930's Nash began to investigate various ways to make Nash cars more competitive. Their chief engineer Nils Wahlberg started reseach into vastly improved heating and ventilating sysems for the Nash Cars. Introduced in 1938 as the Nash Conditioned Air system it was improved in 1939 and called Weather Eye. It provided draft free, filtered fresh air, and heated it and distributed it into the car interior under pressure to provide a summer wamth. Later all manufactures introduced similar units. In 1941 Nash introduced the first mass produced framless car body. Since then all manufactures use this method to build their cars. Their pioneeing efforts are seen in todays cars. |
