1978 Corniche Convertible, Needs Repair. What's it Worth?
I have just acquired a 1978 Corniche Convertible, and I'm looking for some guidance on the best way to fix it and sell it.
Overall, it's in pretty good shape cosmetically. It's a lovely light beige color, with a nice leather interior. Aside from a few paint chips on a few edges, the paint is fantastic, tires and wheels are great, and the top is in excellent shape. Mechanically, she has a few issues. There's very little compression on one side of the engine, so essentially, four cylinders are affected. My mechanic (who knows very little about these cars) tells me that it could cost quite a bit to fix and make it run well. I'm willing to spend the money if I knew I could sell it for a decent price, but at this point, I don't know what this car is worth, or how best to sell it. Can anyone provide some guidance on its value if it were mechanically sound? What's the best way to sell it? Are parts hard to come by for this car? thanks in advance. |
