AC help please.
I have refilled my AC before but it doesn't seem to be taking in anymore coolant this time. I think its just user error because its been a while. And by the way, the only reason the stuff leaked was due to a loose retrofitting adapter. Despite this, the system has maintained a charge at about 25ish psi so the compressor kicks off and on every 5 seconds. So then, to make sure i'm doing this right, once the hose is hooked up and AC is on, when the compressor kicks in i press the button while holding the bottle upright and release when it goes off, while agitating the can every few seconds. So is this it? It seems like nothing was going into the system because the pressure never went up.
Anyway, heres a video to make it a little clearer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqLx64tuS6A THANKS in advance!!

when the temps are 70deg or lower it is difficult to charge the system ...when its 90deg plus out no problem .. |

Ahh i see. I remember hearing somewhere that if you're impatient like me you could dip the can into a pot of hot tap water. It was about 75 today btw.

Re: AC help please.
when charging with the engine hot you can place the refrigerent can near the exhaust maniflod to increase can pressure to force it in faster....use common sense , not too much ..

Re: AC help please.
You really need to monitor the high side pressure when checking the system to be sure it isn't going over pressure. A clogged condenser and/or orifice tube can create a dangerous condition. A blown orifice would allow you to severely overcharge the system and still never get acceptable cooling.
You need to properly diagnose the system before adding anything. You should also be adding oil to the system if the charge was actually lost.
