Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies
I've never really been interested in this sort of thing - what's the attraction? Am I missing out?

Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies
I used to love racing games, but haven't played one in many years now. Besides the very early ATARI stuff, the first one I played was the original Test Drive back in 1987 and I have played most of them since then. The last one I bought was GT4 for the Playstation2 when it was new, but I quickly found during the license test portion the handheld controllers just don't cut it anymore. The interface has gotten so sophisticated that you really need a steering wheel and pedals to be able to have any real fun with it. To position yourself properly to use those items it helps to have a gaming cockpit and that's even more money. If I had lots of money I'd probably skip over game-console stuff and buy one of those mega-buck racing simulators. They've gotten pretty sophisticated now.
I satisfy my craving a little differently by going go-karting every once in a while. >8^) ER |

Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies
Forza is only on xbox?
What's the game with the nicest cars (preferably supercars; not tuned civics etc) and the best graphics? I only have a pc.. In 2010 I can set up a decent pc, steeringwheel and television. Now, I only need a playseat |

Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies
Just gonna bump this because of a recent game update and some f**king brilliant news.
First of all, I don't know if any of you played Ferrari Challenge on PS3 that came out either last year or the year before, but the makers of that made a more general supercar game called yes, you guessed it, 'Supercar Challenge', and in that, the original F1 roadcar makes an appearance as shown here. Here's a video of it going around Mont Tremblant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrtRybrB168 I get the feeling they either recorded a GTR for the sound, or they made it themselves because it certainly doesn't sound like any of the roadcars I've heard in other clips. __________________________________________________ _________ Moving on, and this is perhaps the greatest news ever. Today a Sony preview show from CES (a gaming/entertainment expo) has been posted on the net, and in this video, they show a bit of Gran Turismo 5 on the Nurburgring Nordschliefe. The keen eyes amongst us gamers saw the video and spotted this beauty: So that confirms the normal road version of the F1 is going to be in my favourite racing series of all time finally. Cannot wait for it's release now. Of course we know the FINA Longtail GTR was in GT4/GT4 Prologue, so you'd assume that'll re-appear in GT5 (almost forgot it's in GT for PSP as well). __________________________________________________ __________ Oh and one final thing. With the appearance of the Longtail GTR's in Forza 3, people have been using them as a base to create liveries using the in game editor. Heres a few examples of their work: |

Hmm this Forza Motorsport game is well made.
I enjoyed very much! Just the sounds could be even more louder. And the livery Lark or FINA, thank you.

Re: F1s in Gaming - Representation Accuracies and Inaccuracies
Just saw a GT5 trailer at the E3 live feed (yes I am that geeky!) Had 2 Mclaren F1 roadcars in it. Will try to post a pic once the video is uploaded to the net.
