Accidents

So after a month of driving the Stealth, I've won a few races. Until I lent the car to my cousin a couple of days ago... (bad idea since the car wasn't mine. a friend let me borrow it until he could get done working on my Eclipse and escort) So after about an hour, I got a call from the hospital and they told me to come pick up my cousin. Nothing happened to him but they just wanted to check him out. Anyway, so now the car is trashed... completely totalled, I have to get a car for my friend, and I have to get myself a car to drive until everything's cool again. So the question is what car should I get and is it gonna break the bank?

Re: Accidents

Give your Eclipse and Escort to your friend. It is the only way I'd consider this a fair and even deal.

Re: Accidents

Yeah... that's true, after all the work he put into them, I don't think I deserve them.

Re: Accidents

oh yeah, I was offered a mint condition 1995 Geo Metro for only $1500. It only has 15,000 miles on it. I find problems with the whole idea though. For 1 thing a metro has almost no power at all. 2 there is no speed. 3 it accelerates like a turtle. And 4 it's way to light. Since I'm a street racer all of these things could really drag me down. So should I take the offer and do some major engine mods? or should I just keep looking for a slightly heavier car with more torque and horsepower?

Re: Accidents

By your friend another Stealth or VR4 in the same condition. If someone totaled my VR4 and gave me an Eclipse and an Escort I kick them in the teeth. If you even brought up the word Geo to me I'd feed you to a pack of wild dogs. Responsibility is fixing what you have done. You ruined his Stealth, so you owe him a Stealth of equal value. For now, I would reccommend you stop giving cars away that you don't own and take a lesson from this.

Re: Accidents

although the fact remains that I didn't give the car away, I lent it to my cousin, and although I did talk about the Metro, I was talking about getting it for myself. Giving the Eclipse and the Escort to my friend was only a temporary solution until I can get him something better courtesy of my uncle. That better solution cost about $10K. It is a '68 Pontiac GTO Judge, which I wish that I could keep for myself, but this is the only thing that I could even possibly think could make us even.

Re: Accidents

and the question still remains should I take the Geo Metro offer and try to modify the car as much as I can to make it perform like I want it to? or should I keep looking for a slightly heavier car with more stock torque and horsepower?

Re: Accidents

I'd take the Metro for a daily driver...better millage than any Prius or Insight, and cheap ass insurance. I wish I could have both a DD and a fun car.

With money, anything is possible. I could probably help you out with that...

Re: Accidents

that'd be nice... first thing to do is buy it... which I already have. I'll be posting pictures soon. The first thing I wanted to do was an engine swap... 3-cylinder just doesn't work for me. I was going to use the GM Vortec 2200 2.189 L 4-cylinder. Is this going to be ok or am I going to screw up the whole car if I try it?

Re: Accidents

I'd put in one of those SC'd or TC'd ones from the Cobalt. Thing would fly.
