Monster Monsters

"One of the stupidest court cases I've heard of since SCO sued companies for using Linux... a California company called Monster Cable is going around the country suing other companies that use the word "monster".

Companies that have already bowed down to this insanity include Monster.com, Disney and the Discover Channel. Meanwhile many smaller companies, like http://monstervintage.com/, who sell vintage clothing, are being steamrolled and simply don't have the money to fight the court case.

There is one night in shining armor, though, Snow Monsters (who make ski training videos for kids) has taken the offensive and has sued Monster Cable first, seeking a court ruling that he doesn't infringe upon the cabling company's trademarks."

makes you wonder if you could be next (especially those of us who have their own business)

http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=2559

after you read that, check out

http://www.monstervintage.com/#monstercable

it's not a joke monster cable is doing this for real...

I for one would never buy their cables... it's not like they are the best cables out there anyway, cheap quality and the most expensive...

I can see the writer of "Monster Mash" getting ideas right now.

Re: Monster Monsters

I forget exactly what it is, but in buisness, before naming your company, there is a proper procedure that you have to follow. If they didn't follow that procedure and used the word that someone else had for their company, it's fair game

Re: Monster Monsters

its disapointing to hear that such a great electronics company with a reputation such as monster cables would stoop to such levels...

it reminds me of metallica suing a bunch of companies for using their name, or a likeness of their name. like victoria secrets "metallicKa" lip gloss and other such nonsense.
