Almost finnished.
I sent the pitted master cylinder that's keeping my 360 from enjoying the road to a relative in Germany who works at a machine shop to be sleeved.
He thought I had sent him the clutch cylinder by mistake! Which I can forgive him of, because the single circuit master cylinder used on 360s does look more like it should be used for operating a clutch than it does for stopping a car. He said he "fixed it the best he can" and it's on its way back from the fatherland as I type. Can't wait to put it all back together and bleed the brakes (The first time I've actually looked forward to doing brake work!) Now all I need to do is adapt an alternator to the engine to get it on the road.

Re: Almost finnished.
I already got it back, and rebuilt the master cylinder, so now I'm just wainting to have some time and money to put it back in and bleed the system through. Probably going to be done this summer.

Re: Re: Almost finnished.
Well, I put it in, put fluid in the system, and all of it leaked out over night! Luckily, the problem turned out to be the plunger seal, I had a VW master cylinder rebuild kit, so I just got rid of all the original Subaru parts in the master cylinder, and rebuilt it with the VW parts. The master cylinder doesn't leak, and bled the front brakes through - but I can seem to get a fluid to go through the rear brakes, there must be a blockage in the line somewhere.

Well, now I'm taking the engine apart, again there's a clicking noise coming from the top end of the engine.

Re: Almost finnished.
Inspection reveals that piston ring end gap is about wide as spec allows, causing blow by. Yet to determine whether or not this is because the rings are worn, or if it is the cylinder that is worn.
