What do you guys think about the Blackwood? Somehow I just don't think the public will go for it. Not to say that it's poorly designed, or unattractive, but I don't think that there is a need for a luxury pickup.
Of course, on the other hand, there really isn't a luxury pickup on the market, so it would hold that entire market. Any thoughts?

I think people will buy them. I personally liked the way it looked as a concept, two years ago, uch better then now.

Yes, but only because they will be collectors items.

Blackwood
I was hopeing to find more information on the Blackwood here, guess everyone else is in the same boat I'm in, wondering what its like.
Here is the review I read that got me interested, http://www.thecarconnection.com/inde...57,181&sid=181 They also wonder what the market will be for this truck. I'm still browsing the web for more info, if anyone has something else on this, please let me know. BK |

Frankly, a Blackwood has got to be in the bottom 10% of all cars on the market that I would ever consider buying. So I personally can not understand why someone would want one, but on the same token, I can see how it stands to sell nicely. I am surprised at how well the Navigator sells. But the numbers speak for themselves.

i saw one on the road the other day, i first saw it at the local auto show, its not that bad except for the pinstiping on the bed...i think they came out with it because lincoln wanted to try there luck with the crew cab short bed look since apparently it works for everyone else, but that my opinion

What do u suppose the Cadillac Escalde EXT is then? I dont really like the Blackwood but I do think it will sell good.Only because the Navigator sells pretty nicely and so does Escalade. Now they both came out with a pick-up thats basically the same as there SUV brothers. The EXT and Blackwood look just like Escalade and Navigator.Only difference really is that there pick-ups so I dont see why Blackwood wouldnt sell. But who knows, maybe they wont sell good.Just have to wait and see. |

It is good looking, but that doesn't mean that it will sell.

I PERSONALLY THINK IT'S LIKE AN OXYMORON..... LUXURY PICK UP TRUCK?? SOMETHING THE FARMERS HAVE RESERVED FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS
I PERSONALLY DON'T THINK IT'LL SELL THAT MANY UNITS... FIGURE AROUND 5,000 IN IT'S FIRST YEAR AND EVEN LOWER THE SECOND

Re: Do you think these will sell?
no chance this thing will sell especially when it has to compete with the escalade luxury pickup/ suv. The blackwood just cant compete with the wow effect of the escalade and i think its a crude bi-product of an already aging navigator design

blackwood replacement
the replacement to the Lincoln Blackwood is the Lincoln Mark LT. It has revised looks, a new chrome grille, and is based on the current Ford F-150. It looks pretty nice. But it probably will lose the pinstripes down the length of the bed. The production model (if approved by Ford), will most definately be a four door to compete with the much more successful Cadillac Escalade EXT.

Blackwood Replacment - Mark LT
www.ikewinebarger.com
The Lincoln Blackwood was really a sharp truck. I read one guy said he didn't like the pin stripping on the bed. That wasn't pin striping. Those were stainless steal inserts that seperated real wood boards. Anyway, the Blackwood was a short lived model. Lincoln has got it right this time. They have just introduced the all new Lincoln Mark LT. This is a true luxury truck. This isn't just another pretty face. It is built off of the Ford f-150, the best truck in the world - Hands Down. It is designed for the people that want the ability to use their truck and do real work with it, but want something a bit more upscale. This is the first and only true luxury truck on the Market. Will it sell? Lincoln is predicting sales of 20,000 per year. They have already pre-sold most all of the first production run. You can learn more about the Lincoln Mark LT by visiting my personal web site at www.ikewinebarger.com. |
