ok ok, so this is my first restoration, and I am starting off good, but there is one thing that i know is supposedly simple, but i dont know where to start! When I turn my key, the engine cranks just fine, but it will not start until i let go of the key, then it runs just fine. I was told there was i "restrictor" but A) i dont know if that is BS and B) where would i find that thing. Someone please help. She is a 68 pontiac gto with a 71 pontiac 400 engine

Re: Help! Just bought this car
There are 2 circuits to the coil/ignition, one is straight 12v for cranking, the other is a resistor wire to reduce the volts to about 6v for running. You are not getting the 12v when cranking, check for 12v at the positive side/ign side of the coil when cranking, post back results.
